How to Fix a Bad Day
I have a Sales Mastermind group that has been going since late in February. My “Masterminders” come from all areas of sales, but most are of the entrepreneur variety.
In our first meeting, we outlined topics to cover in the bi-weekly sessions.
This last week we tackled a tough one: “How to Fix a Bad Day.” You know, everybody has them, the day that starts bumpy, then moves to rocky and ends up crappy.

The whys of a bad day are everything from poor sleep to lack of motivation and encounters with stupid people. The results of a bad day are getting nothing accomplished, unproductive thinking, and depression.
So how DO you fix a bad day? The most effective way I know to counter a bad day is to enter The Zone.
The Zone is a place of power and confidence. In The Zone, we’re willing to take risks, we’re totally focused, and we are in control.
Everyone has been there. Can you remember a time when you were in The Zone? A time when all your stars were in alignment? A time when you felt invincible?
If you could capture that feeling, store it and use it at will, wouldn’t it be powerful?
Here’s how: find a quiet place and close your eyes. Remember a time when you felt powerful, happy, in control, and purposeful…a time when you were at your absolute best and most effective. How did that feel? Hold on to that feeling and set it with some physical movement and sound. Any kind of movement/sound combination will work. Practice summoning the feeling and setting it with your movement. Keep practicing until the feeling and the movement become one.
Now, when you are discouraged, downhearted, downtrodden, or depressed summon your Zone. Send yourself forward toward accomplishing your goals, reconnecting with your purpose, and remembering how great you are at what you do.
Sell with pride, sell with purpose, sell with integrity!
