Fort Collins hires planning director, CFO
FORT COLLINS — After a nationwide search, Jeffrey Scheick has accepted the position of Planning, Development & Transportation Director for the city of Fort Collins.
Scheick comes to Fort Collins from Salem, Ore., where he currently serves as the Northwest Region Manager for the Oregon Department of Transportation. He has been with ODOT since 1996.
As PDT Director, Jeff will manage more than 250 employees in Transportation Planning, Traffic, Engineering, Streets, Parking, Transfort, City Planning & Community Development and the Development Review Center.

“Jeff has a broad range of experience in both transportation and planning, which is important for this unique position,´ said Diane Jones, deputy city manager. “He shares the values of this community, and I believe he will bring a wealth of knowledge and innovation to Fort Collins, particularly in the areas of environmental stewardship and collaborative problem solving.”
Scheick will report to the Deputy City Manager.
Additionally, Mike Freeman has been appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer for the city. He was brought on as Economic Advisor in March 2006, and began serving as Interim CFO earlier this year.
“Mike has been a great addition to our city leadership team,´ said City Manager Darin Atteberry. “He has been instrumental in helping key economic development projects move forward, and he played an important role in overseeing the recent development of the 2008-2009 City budget. I am very pleased to have Mike moving into this CFO role permanently.”
Freeman will begin his new role immediately, and will report to the City Manager.
