Loveland, Estes Park receive tourism marketing grants
DENVER — Two entities in Larimer County are among 17 around the state to receive tourism-marketing grants from the Colorado Tourism Office, a division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade.
The grants announced Thursday are designed to support local and regional tourism destinations by providing resources to promote Colorado as a premier travel destination while fostering responsible travel practices that benefit residents and visitors.
The City of Loveland will receive $49,000 toward the launch of a campaign positioning “America’s Sweetheart City” as a year-round destination for romantic getaways and destination weddings, while Visit Estes Park, the mountain town’s local marketing district, will receive $42,333 to help develop a campaign promoting the region as a top-tier location for accessible recreation and outdoor exploration. Last year, VEP completed the Tourism Office’s Accessible Travel Program, with 36 total sites achieving Accessibility Verified status, including 25 sites completed independently outside of the program
“The Tourism Marketing Grant program helps ensure that communities across the state benefit from Colorado’s thriving tourism industry,” OEDIT Executive Director Eve Lieberman said in a prepared statement. “By investing in community-led initiatives, we are empowering local destinations to showcase their unique heritage, create responsible travel, and build economic resilience throughout the state.”
The grant program helps fund marketing campaigns and initiatives that align with the Tourism Office’s mission to support traveler spending through the promotion and development of compelling, sustainable travel experiences statewide. The program’s goals include promoting responsible travel, strengthening destination stewardship and boosting the economic impact of tourism in Colorado.
“Tourism marketing grants help Colorado communities attract visitors, support local businesses and strengthen their economies,” Timothy Wolfe, director of the Colorado Tourism Office, said in a news release. “This year’s grants will help destinations showcase what makes them unique, encourage responsible travel and create new opportunities for communities across the state.”
More than $600,000 in total funding is going to support 23 counties across Colorado. Grants range from $10,184 to $49,000.
The funded projects will be executed throughout 2027.
