Boulder Chamber Economic Summit set Oct. 22

BOULDER — More than 400 business executives, entrepreneurs, academics and civic leaders will gather Oct. 22 for the annual Boulder Chamber Economic Summit.

The event will be held from 7:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom in the University Memorial Center on the University of Colorado campus, 1669 Euclid Ave.

CU Boulder chancellor Justin Schwartz will address the current state of higher education and the specific opportunities for the university in the future, including ways the business community and school can engage in mutually beneficial partnerships. 

Boulder City Manager Nuria Rivera-Vandermyde and police chief Stephen Redfearn will detail the impact of current economic and public-safety conditions and what steps the City of Boulder is taking in support of a thriving business community.

Richard Wobbekind, associate dean and senior economist at the Business Research Division of CU’s Leeds School of Business, and Brian Lewandowski, executive director of the division, will share their perspective on public policy impacts to the region’s economic vitality and strategies businesses should consider in navigating this evolving economic environment.

Amanda Kelso, acting CEO of the Sundance Institute, and Jeff Levine, head of audience development and experience for the Sundance Film Festival, will share the festival’s anticipated economic and cultural shine and how businesses can benefit from the positive glow.

Cost to attend is $95 for Boulder Chamber members and $130 for non-members. Registration can be made online.
