Weld Community Foundation CEO to retire
GREELEY — Rand E. Morgan will retire Dec. 31 after nine years as president and CEO of the Weld Community Foundation.
In making the announcement on Wednesday, foundation board chairman Dr. Matt Martinez said Morgan “has served the foundation, the fund holders, donors, and grant recipients so well for nine years.” During Morgan’s tenure, Martinez said, the foundation’s assets have tripled from $18 million to more than $54 million.
A search committee composed of past, current and upcoming foundation board chairs is defining parameters and getting the position advertised. The committee’s goal is to have a new president in place by Jan. 1.

The foundation employs four full-time staffers and one part-timer who help donors establish values-based charitable funds that provide grants to dedicated nonprofits and scholarships to deserving Weld County students. Last year, the foundation awarded $3 million in grants, scholarships and program support.
“The foundation will miss Rand’s leadership,” Martinez said, “and we look forward to finding someone who will build upon those successes and help the community foundation move strongly into the future.”
