BizWest wins six awards in SPJ Top of the Rockies contest

BizWest won six awards Saturday in the Colorado Professional Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists Top of the Rockies Excellence in Journalism contest.

The contest includes chapters in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.

Editor Christopher Wood took two awards:

• CHIPS Act could prove boon for Colorado tech sectors, published Aug. 7, 2022, first place in the Science & Technology News category.

• North Weld Water, published on various dates, second place in the General Reporting, Series category.

The contest included more than 1,750 entries from more than 100 news-media outlets and freelancers. Entries were judged by journalists in Illinois and Ohio.
