How dispatchable resources enable the clean energy transition

Platte River must prepare for the retirement of 431 megawatts (MW) of dispatchable, coal-fired generation by the end of the decade and address more frequent extreme weather events that can bring dark calms (periods when there is no sun or wind).

• Xiant Technologies Inc., a Greeley developer of agricultural lighting solutions, raised nearly $8 million in equity. 
• Boulder investment management firm Black Swift Partners LLC launched Pro Cyclist Institutional Fund LP, a new pooled investment fund. It has raised $15.8 million so far. 
• FairWords Inc., a Longmont company that creates AI-based software for human resources, launched a $6 million equity round. It has raised $5.24 million so far. 
• Louisville real estate investment firm Real Capital Solutions Inc. launched RCS-MezzCo PWT LLC, a new real estate fund that has raised $20.9 million.
