SOS to offer text message reminders to business operators

DENVER — The Colorado Secretary of State’s Office will begin to offer text message notifications to business owners to let them know that their records need to be updated.

The messages will serve as reminders and help business operators avoid having records become inadvertently delinquent.

“As part of our ongoing mission to further modernize our business systems, these new text message capabilities offer another convenient tool for busy business owners,” Secretary of State Jena Griswold said in a press release.  “By cutting red tape, we’re streamlining the process to start a business, enabling entrepreneurs to focus on the real work running their businesses, which are the backbone of the Colorado economy.”

How dispatchable resources enable the clean energy transition

Platte River must prepare for the retirement of 431 megawatts (MW) of dispatchable, coal-fired generation by the end of the decade and address more frequent extreme weather events that can bring dark calms (periods when there is no sun or wind).

Colorado businesses that are starting a new LLC will now have the option of adding a cell phone number in addition to the email address they already provide. Once signed up, users will receive a text message when they first file, subscribe or unsubscribe, and they will receive reminders for annual report deadlines.  While the new text messaging system is currently in place exclusively for newly formed LLCs, it will eventually be expanded to all businesses on file with the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office.
