Everhart promoted to president of Brinkman Real Estate

FORT COLLINS — Brinkman Real Estate Services LLC has named Jane Everhart to the position of president and chief financial officer for the real estate investment firm.

Her promotion, the company said, helps to support the organization’s market focus in secondary/tertiary markets in the Intermountain West region.

Everhart is a senior executive with more than 30 years of experience in financial management, including 20 years as a CFO for high-growth, entrepreneurial companies. Throughout her career at Otter Products LLC, Gorsuch Ltd. and Brinkman Real Estate, she has navigated domestic and international growth, resulting in profit increases from 35% to 300% during her watch.

How dispatchable resources enable the clean energy transition

Platte River must prepare for the retirement of 431 megawatts (MW) of dispatchable, coal-fired generation by the end of the decade and address more frequent extreme weather events that can bring dark calms (periods when there is no sun or wind).

Everhart has been with Brinkman since 2014 and previously held the CFO and COO roles. She will retain her CFO duties along with her expanded role as president. As president, she will lead strategic initiatives that focus on organizational optimization and structure while driving short- and long-term company goals.

She has a bachelor of science degree in business with an emphasis in accounting from the University of Colorado. She is a certified public accountant, a graduate of the Women’s Vision Leadership Institute and is a strategic operating plan facilitator from the Paterson Center.

Kevin Brinkman, CEO of the company, said the promotion helps support its new strategy to tap into smaller markets. To that end, the company has closed $200 million in deals in the past 18 months, including so far this year the purchase of King West One apartment complex in Billings, Montana, and closing the sale of Union Pointe in Longmont to Centerspace LP (NYSE: CSR) for $76.9 million. The Longmont sale totaled $300,390 per unit.

“The transition to remote work due to the COVID-19 pandemic is vastly accelerating movement from large, urban areas to smaller, more desirable communities,” Brinkman wrote in his quarterly newsletter. “This is proving beneficial for Brinkman’s “Hedgehog” acquisitions strategy, which is laser focused on core plus and value add properties in secondary/tertiary markets in the Intermountain West. We’ve executed on this strategy in recent months with the acquisitions of a large multi-family community outside of Salt Lake City, a workforce housing community in the suburbs of Denver, a short-term rental community in Vail, and a multi-family community in Billings.”

“As we continue our expansion throughout the Intermountain West region, we need a strategic leader to scale our resources to meet these needs,” Brinkman said. “Jane’s contributions have been invaluable and have led to our success as a company. I’m excited to continue working closely with her in this new role.”
