Nonprofit – Grant -First Nations, partners give $250K in grants

First Nations Development Institute, a Longmont-based nonprofit group that assists Native American tribes, partnered with the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community and the American Heart Association to provide $250,000 in grants through the collaborative Policy Innovation Fund. Grant recipients were: California Indian Museum & Cultural Center, Santa Rosa, Calif., $81,667; Karuk Tribe, Happy Camp, Calif., $81,667; and Port Gamble S’Klallam Foundation, Kingston, Wash., $80,000.
