Acting Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission director gets permanent job

DENVER — Jeff Robbins was tapped Tuesday to serve as the director of the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. He had been the COGCC’s acting director since January 17.

Robbins’ background includes work advising Gov. Jared Polis on oil and gas issues, a 2014 stint on the Colorado Task Force Regarding State and Local Regulation of Oil and Gas Operations, and partnership position in Durango-based law firm Goldman, Robbins, Nicholson & Mack P.C. He has also served as County Attorney in both LaPlata and Archuleta counties.

“Jeff’s expertise in the oil and gas industry has already proven to be a tremendous asset to the commission,” Dan Gibbs, executive director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, said in a prepared statement. “We are excited to be able to appoint him as COGCC’s new director.”
