FORT MORGAN — Gene O’Hara, chief executive officer of the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan, will retire when his replacement is hired.
O’Hara also is a trustee on the board of of Aims Community College in Greeley.
While owning a building seems like something every successful business should do, that’s not always the case. For many companies, it makes more sense to continue leasing space, freeing up time and capital that can be better utilized in other ways.
The Fort Morgan Times reported that O’Hara has served as CEO since 2014. In making his retirement announcement, O’Hara said the biggest challenge has been trying to reduce costs for patients while generating financial returns for the organization.
