Redbarre suggests 4,000 jobs at new video production facility in Parker

PARKER – A  video production facility planned for Parker could create more than 4,000 jobs for the south metro area, officials said in a press announcement Wednesday.

The Denver Post reports that the Redbarre Digital Media & Technology Campus would occupy about 1.9 million square feet of mixed-use space in the Compark Village subdivision, just north of E-470 and west of Chambers Road in Parker.

The planned campus would include a 70-acre soundstage “unlike anything in North America,” according to a press statement, and offer feature film, television and digital media creators and crews “an unfettered data-centric production environment in metro Denver.”

How dispatchable resources enable the clean energy transition

Platte River must prepare for the retirement of 431 megawatts (MW) of dispatchable, coal-fired generation by the end of the decade and address more frequent extreme weather events that can bring dark calms (periods when there is no sun or wind).

Gov. John Hickenlooper will join Redbarre officials and others to formally announce the project at 11:30 a.m. at the West Foyer in the Capitol on Aug. 11.

Redbarre, a media consultancy firm whose clients include HBO, MTV and ESPN, plans to partner with the town of Parker and the Panasonic CityNOW smart-technology project to open the facility in 2020.
