Media agency Sovrn lays off more than two dozen employees

BOULDER — Sovrn Holdings Inc., a Boulder online technology agency, has laid off more than two dozen people in Boulder and Denver.

The Boulder Daily Camera reports that the agency laid off 27 employees, taking its total employment from almost 250 to 220.

Sovrn CEO Walter Knapp announced the 14 percent workforce reduction in a blog post, June 27.

Sovrn is an online technology firm that provides tools that help online publishers present their content and media buyers reach readers of more than 80,000 websites worldwide.

The company moved to Boulder in 2014, spinning out of Federated Media. Sovrn also maintains offices in San Francisco, New York and London, but the majority of the cuts took place in Boulder and Denver.
