New transit-oriented development planned at Stapleton

DENVER — Developers will begin work early next year on a massive new transit-oriented development in Denver’s Stapleton neighborhood.

The Denver Business Journal reports that Cleveland-based Forest City Realty Trust plans to begin work next spring on a 190,000-square-foot office building near the Central Park Station along the airport line linking downtown with Denver International Airport. Forest City Realty Trust is the parent company of Forest City Stapleton, master developer of the former Stapleton International Airport.

The new project’s first phase also will include 300 apartments, 120 condos and 60,000 square feet of retail. Ultimate plans call for  TOD at Central Park Station to include 100,000 square feet of retail, 1 million square feet of office space, 1,000 apartments, 400 condos and a 120-room hotel.
