Longmont approves incentive package for J.M. Smucker Co.

LONGMONT – The Longmont City Council gave its final approval Tuesday night to a $6.5 million economic development incentive package for the J.M. Smucker Co.’s proposed $340 million manufacturing facility.

John Fryar of the Times-Call reports that council members voted unanimously for the incentives agreement between the city and J.M. Smucker Co., which plans to construct its facility in southeast Longmont, near East County Line Road and Ken Pratt Boulevard, which is in Weld County. The company is also receiving incentive packages from Weld County and the state of Colorado that are tied to job creation.
