Report: Extraction ban on federal lands could cost Colorado 50,000 jobs

A new report warns that Colorado could lose 50,000 jobs if extracting oil, coal and natural gas from federal lands were ever banned, an idea supported by many in the Democratic party.

The Denver Post reports that an analysis from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce called Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico the three states that would be hit hardest under such a scenario, with Colorado also at risk of losing $124 million in state royalties.
