Lafayette staff to investigate Erie development

City of Lafayette officials aim to find out for themselves whether rumors that King Soopers is closing a store in Lafayette to make way for one in a new Erie development have any merit.

The Daily Camera reports that city council has directed staff to hire attorneys to investigate “the actions and methods used to develop the (Nine-Mile Corner) property.” Nine-Mile Corner, a large parcel of land at the southeast corner of U.S. 287 and Arapahoe Road, is slated for a large mixed-use development. King Soopers officials have previously denied that their store at the northeast corner of 287 and Baseline Road would be moving to Nine-Mile Corner.
