A proposal by Extraction Oil and Gas to build a 22-well drilling project in west Greeley has been denied by the city of Greeley’s planning commission.

The Greeley Tribune reports that the planning commission voted 6-0 to deny the project after dozens of residents from the area spoke out against it. The company has 10 days to appeal the decision to city council.

The project is proposed for a 14-acre parcel northwest of 18th Street and 71st Avenue.
