Vestas Wind Systems acquires California firm for $60M
Wind-turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems on Monday announced the acquisition of San Diego-based UpWind Solutions Inc.
Denmark-based Vestas, which has manufacturing plants in Windsor, Brighton and Pueblo, paid $60 million cash for UpWind, the Denver Business Journal reports. UpWind has about 3 gig watts-worth of wind power plants in nine states, equal to about 6 percent of Vestas’ existing worldwide portfolio.
