City looking into alleged election-law violations by Boulder Chamber

One of the authors of a pair of contentious Boulder ballot issues that place further restrictions on development in the city has filed a complaint alleging that the Boulder Chamber of Commerce has violated election laws.

The Daily Camera reports that the city clerk’s office is investigating the claim, which centers around an email the Boulder Chamber sent to members urging them to vote against ballot issues 300 and 301 and whether that runs afoul of city rules that prohibit people who have contracts with the city from donating to local campaigns.
