EnviroTech zoning request draws mixed review from Weld planning commission

EnviroTech’s plans to develop a plot of agricultural land near the intersection of U.S. Highway 34 and Weld County Road 13 has drawn an evenly split review form the Weld County Planning Commission.

The Greeley Tribune reports that the commission voted 4-4 on Tuesday on whether to recommend approval of EnviroTech’s request to rezone the property from agricultural to medium industrial. The Board of Weld County Commissioners will ultimately have final say. EnviroTech’s plan is to develop the property and lease it to another company, though no specific plans have been identified.

Residents of Indianhead Estates, which is near the land in question, fought vehemently against Martin Marietta’s application for a special-use permit to construct an asphalt and concrete plant nearby, which was ultimately approved by the commissioners.
