Level 3 lays off undisclosed number of workers

Officials for Broomfield-based telecommunications firm Level 3 Communications Inc. (NYSE: LVLT) have confirmed a round of layoffs associated with the company’s merger with TW Telecom, but aren’t saying how many jobs were lost nor how Colorado operations were affected.

At the time of the merger last fall, officials had stated that the combined company employed about 13,600 people worldwide, including 4,000 in Colorado. Those figures included about 2,400 at Level 3’s Broomfield headquarters.
