RTD, commuter group at odds over EcoPass rate hike
A Regional Transportation District committee tonight will study raising EcoPass rates in 2016 to conform to federal anti-discrimination guidelines — but a nonprofit commuter advocacy group wants it to hold off until more data is available.
Rates for the annual employer-sponsored pass, which gives employees unlimited rides on RTD bus and light-rail routes, would increase a total of 18.3 percent — including a general 13.2 percent fare hike that was approved in May and is to take effect in January.
