Wingate Hotel slated for Monday groundbreaking in Johnstown

Construction crews are expected to break ground on Monday on a new 75-room Wingate Hotel by Wyndham in the 2534 development in Johnstown.

The Reporter-Herald reports that a local ownership group, led by the owners of The Steer restaurant in Loveland, are aiming to open next June. The hotel could eventually be expanded to 112 rooms.

The Wingate will join a host of other hotels present or being built in the area. BizWest reported in June that owners had submitted plans to the city of Loveland for a 64-room extended-stay My Place Hotel in the Crossroads Business Park. The Reporter-Herald noted Thursday that that hotel is expected to break ground at the end of August and open in the first quarter of next year.
