Louisville-based GlobeImmune to lay off ‘majority’ of workforce

LOUISVILLE – GlobeImmune Inc. (Nasdaq: GBIM) announced Wednesday that the biopharmaceutical company is laying off most of its employees as part of a restructuring in the wake of negative trial results last week that sent its stock tumbling.

The Louisville-based company did not specify how many employees would be affected, but a company official last week told BizWest at that time that GlobeImmune employed about 22.

Kirk Christoffersen, vice president of corporate development, said in a phone interview that the move will help conserve working capital and give the company “maximum flexibility” to move forward.…
