Frasier Meadows retirement community plans to expand Boulder campus

BOULDER — Officials at Frasier Meadows, a nonprofit continuing-care retirement community, said Wednesday they will move forward with a plan to add 72 independent-living apartment homes, a center for arts and education, and a wellness center and clinic to its campus in Boulder.

Frasier Meadows recently completed the renovation of its assisted-living and memory-care community, which had to be rebuilt following major flooding during September of 2013.

“While we’re in the early stages of a very exciting chapter in the history of Frasier, we know there is a need for more services and lifestyle options for independent older adults,” said Tim Johnson, Frasier’s president and chief executive.

The center for arts and education, which will be open to the Boulder community, will provide a space for cultural, social and educational events and activities.

Cost of the independent-living project has not been released, and a date to begin construction has not been set. The project will be rolled out in phases, according to a statement.

Frasier plans to seek opinions about the project from residents and the public.

The campus, at 350 Ponca Place, is home to about 400 residents.
