Boulder’s Z2 Entertainment to book bands for Mishawaka Amphitheatre
FORT COLLINS – The Mishawaka Amphitheatre is looking to Boulder’s music scene to help with booking acts.
Officials for the 1,000-person venue in Poudre Canyon announced recently that they’ve contracted with Z2 Entertainment to schedule bands for the 2015 season. Z2 operates both the Boulder Theater and Fox Theatre in Boulder. Z2’s David Weingarden and Chris Peck will serve as talent buyers for Mishawaka.
Specific terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Part of the reason for the switch was to simplify the process, Mishawaka general manager Alana Rolfe said.

Since current owner and general manager Dani Grant bought the venue four seasons ago, Roger Menell handled bookings early on as an employee of the amphitheater. Last season, Menell worked for Swallow Hill Music, one of three booking companies with which the Mishawaka worked. Weingarden, meanwhile, had worked for Swallow Hill when Menell was at the Mishawaka.
“We decided just to go with one agency this year,” Rolfe said. “The way David and his people work works very well with the way we work.”
Another hope is that the Mishawaka can expand its clientele base, mixing rock, country and indie acts in with the jam bands that have become a staple of the venue.
“Americana, Blues, that sort of thing has been pretty successful,” Rolfe said. “We’re just trying to make it so a rock band or country band can come up there and be just as successful.”
The Mishawaka’s season runs from mid-May to late September, and Rolfe said the 2015 concert lineup will be announced in April.
