Berthoud hires Elish as business development manager

BERTHOUD — Walt Elish, former chief executive of the Northern Colorado Economic Development Corp. based in Loveland, has taken a job with the town of Berthoud as its business development manager.

Elish resigned from the NCEDC, a nonprofit economic development organization Sept. 5 after three years on the job, and he was introduced to Berthoud’s board of trustees as the town’s business development manager by town administrator Michael Hart on Sept. 23.

Elish said he began working part time for the town in October and then full time at the beginning of the year.

In Colorado, 1 in 3 women, 1 in 3 men and 1 in 2 transgender individuals will experience an attempted or completed sexual assault in their lifetime. During April, we recognize Sexual Assault Awareness Month with the hopes of increasing conversations about this very important issue.

Elish will work on supporting the retention and expansion of existing businesses, attracting new primary employers — those who sell products or provide services outside the town — and creating economic development opportunities.
