Colorado business schools to hold collaborative job fair

Colorado’s business colleges have banded together to give more than 2,000 students and alumni the opportunity to introduce themselves to some of the nation’s largest corporations interested in hiring their graduates.

The Colorado Business School Career Fair, featuring companies such as T. Rowe Price, Comcast, Wells Fargo, The Hertz Corp., MillerCoors and Oppenheimer, will be held at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver on Friday. The pool of candidates that already have registered for the job fair has attracted more than 150 companies in Colorado and the mountain West as well as cities such as New York and San Francisco.

The sponsors — Colorado State University College of Business, Daniels School of Business at the University of Denver and Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder — have opened up the opportunity to business students from the University of Wyoming in Laramie and Colorado colleges and universities that offer business programs: the University of Northern Colorado’s Monfort College of Business, Metro State University, Mesa College, CU Denver and CSU Pueblo’s Hassan School of Business.

“Rather than competing for companies to attend our individual events, we have attracted more businesses who are very interested in coming for a larger pool of candidates,” said Sue Schell, director of the Career Management Center at CSU. “We all win by providing more potential employers for all of our students and a significantly larger venue than the smaller business colleges could provide.”
