Lafayette health clinic receives $250K in federal funding
Clinica was one of two health clinics to receive $250,000 in Colorado. The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless in Denver also received $250,000.
Health and Human Services awarded a total of $54.6 million in Affordable Care Act funding to support 221 health centers in 47 states and Puerto Rico. Health centers will use the funding to hire new mental health professionals and add new services.

“These awards will further reduce the barriers that too often prevent Coloradans from getting the help they need for mental health problems,” Health and Human Services’ secretary Sylvia Burwell said in a statement. “Health centers in Colorado with these awards are on the front lines of better integrating mental health into primary care and improving access to care through the Affordable Care Act.”
In 2013, Colorado health centers saw more than 38,700 mental health patients, according to Health and Human Services.
