Udall outraised Gardner in second quarter

U.S. Sen. Mark Udall, D-Colo., has raised $3.1 million and finished the second quarter with $5.7 million cash on hand, the senator’s campaign said Monday.

Udall faces U.S. Rep. Cory Gardner, R-Colo., for the hotly contested Senate seat in November. Gardner’s campaign said last week that the congressman raised $2.7 million and had $3.4 million cash on hand during the second quarter.

The campaigns announced their finances ahead of the Tuesday deadline for campaign finance reports due to the Federal Election Commission.

As Mental Health Awareness Month unfolds in Colorado, it serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to prioritize mental well-being.

In the past year, Gardner’s campaign had received multiple contributions that exceeded a $2,600 limit, according to Federal Election Commission records. The excessive contributions included ones from Woodward Inc. (Nasdaq: WWD) CEO Tom Gendron, real estate and rail magnate Pat Broe and oil and gas advocacy group Western Energy Alliance.

Gardner’s campaign responded to a query from the Federal Election Commission that it returned contributions that exceeded federal limits.
