Celestial Seasonings to hit 2 million visitors this week

BOULDER – Celestial Seasonings tea company will receive its 2 millionth tour guest mid-morning on Tuesday, March 25, if visitor projections hold up.

In honor of this milestone, the company will host a special presentation and all visiting guests will receive a special tea package. Guest relations manager Steve Spencer said the 2 millionth guest will be identified by a unique sticker on his or her tour brochure and will take home a large gift basket and get a VIP tour of the facility.

“We’re very excited to reach this new milestone,” Spencer said.

As Mental Health Awareness Month unfolds in Colorado, it serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to prioritize mental well-being.

The company saw its one millionth visitor nine years ago in spring 2005.

Founded in 1969, the company attracts nearly 140,000 visitors annually. And the numbers seem to be going up.

“So far this March, we are up 10 percent over last March with visitors,” Spencer said.

Since Jan. 2014, over 23,000 people from all over the country have come to visit iconic tea manufacturing plant.

“People are fascinated with the brand and seeing where the Sleepytime bear lives,” Spencer said. “Our customers are super loyal and we’ve seen visitor increases almost continuously throughout the years.”
