Boulder County Business Hall of Fame names class of 2014

LONGMONT – Eight business leaders will be inducted into the Boulder County Business Hall of Fame during a luncheon April 23 at the Plaza Convention Center in Longmont.

This year’s inductees are Mitchell Carson, Terrance P. Gallagher Sr., Robert Gill, William G. Hofgard, Lenny Martinelli and Sara Martinelli, and William Stewart and Lila Jean Stewart. Inductees were announced Wednesday evening during a reception held at the Plaza Convention Center, home of the hall of fame.

Carson is the chief executive and president of Longmont United Hospital.

Gallagher is president of Gasamat Oil Co. and chief executive of Smoker Friendly International LLC in Boulder.

Gill is the principal of The Topaz Group and a co-founder of the Boulder Innovation Center, now the Innovation Center of the Rockies, in Boulder.

Hofgard is founder of Hofgard Insurance, an employee-benefits plan company in Boulder.

Lenny Martinelli and Sara Martinelli are co-founders of Three Leaf Concepts, a restaurant management group working in Boulder and Louisville.

The late William Stewart and his wife, Lila Jean Stewart, owned radio station KLMO in Longmont.

Inductees are chosen by the hall’s board of directors based on nominations. Inductees have been instrumental, through business-related efforts, in providing direction, energy and support to the shaping of Boulder County. Nominees are evaluated based on favorable impact on the community, notable business innovations, corporate philanthropic activities, and business and civic achievements.

Including this year’s class, there are 153 people in the hall, which was established in 1992. The first class was inducted in 1993.
