Six Weld County clinics honored

Six Banner Health clinics in Weld County have received national recognition for their work in creating highly coordinated, patient-care programs that result in higher quality medicine.

The six clinics include one facility each in Johnstown, Eaton and Windsor, as well as the internal medicine, family medicine and pediatric medicine clinics in Greeley.

The awards, bestowed by the National Committee for Quality Assurance, are based on the clinics’ use of a set of care practices known as “patient-centered medical home.” Studies have shown that such practices, which include use of open scheduling, expanded hours, and proven health information systems, can lead to lower costs and higher quality care.

“We were gratified by this recognition. We believe strongly in the patient-centered medical home and how it can improve the patient’s experience,” J.P. Valin, chief medical officer of Banner Medical Group Western Region, said in a statement. Valin is based in Greeley.
Banner Health uses this concept at 20 of its facilities in Arizona and Colorado.
