Martinez new director of Latino foundation

DENVER – Carlos Martinez has been named executive director of the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado, an initiative of Rose Community Foundation.

Martinez will work to expand giving by Latinos, support nonprofit organizations serving the Latino community in Colorado and oversee special projects that allow Latinos to reach their full potential.

The LCFC was formed in 2007 by the Rose Community Foundation in association with Hispanics in Philanthropy. Since it was founded, the LCFC has granted more than $1 million.

Martinez has worked in the nonprofit sector for nearly 25 years. Before joining Rose Community Foundation, he was chief executive of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center of Colorado for more than five years. He also served on the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado board and Rose Community Foundation’s Committee on Aging. He currently serves on the board of the Foothills Art Center and is a member of the Wells Fargo Community Advisory Board.
