Colo. Supreme Court justice finalists selected

Three finalists have been selected to fill a vacancy on the Colorado Supreme Court created by the retirement of Chief Justice Michael L. Bender.

Nominees selected by the Supreme Court Nominating Commission to fill the vacancy are John Daniel Dailey, William W. Hood and David Prince. The position will be vacated effective Jan. 7, 2014.

Under the Colorado Constitution, Gov. John Hickenlooper has 15 days from Oct. 10, 2013 to appoint one of the finalists as a justice on the Colorado Supreme Court, according to a release from the Colorado Judicial Branch.
