CSU chemistry department receives $4.4 million grant

FORT COLLINS – CSU’s Department of Chemistry has been awarded at $4.4 million grant from the National Science Foundation and the Environmental Protection Agency to study pharmaceutical production.

The grant is one of the largest in the history of CSU’s Department of Chemistry, according to a release from CSU.

The research will be led by chemistry professor Anthony Rappe and will investigate whether materials like iron and titanium, when exposed to sunlight, can provide the chemical reactions required to create certain pharmaceuticals.
