Fort Collins CVB posts positive 2011 results

FORT COLLINS – The Fort Collins Convention and Visitors Bureau reported net income of $33,409 in 2011, according to preliminary reports, a substantial improvement from 2010, when the bureau experienced a net loss of $8,350.

The CVB held its annual luncheon Wednesday at the Hilton in Fort Collins.

The bureau posted an increase in visitor inquiries, up to 18,148 in 2011 from 14,702 in 2010, but a decrease in web traffic, from 102,463 visits in 2010 to 72,635 in 2011.

The drop can be attributed to the loss of the events calendar on the CVB’s website, according to the bureau, but that feature will return this year.

Advertising expenditures dropped from $38,784 in 2010 to $20,530 in 2011.
