CU appoints Bracken to leadership role

BOULDER – The University of Colorado Boulder has appointed former University of Colorado president Alexander Bracken to the Quigg and Virginia S. Newton Endowed Chair in Leadership at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Bracken served as the 19th president at the University of Colorado in 2000 and succeeds former CU President Hank Brown as the Newton Chair, which supports and coordinates leadership programs at CU Boulder.

Bracken served most recently as executive director of the Bard Center for Entrepreneurship and the University of Colorado Denver’s school of business from 2001 to 2007. Prior to his service as interim CU President in 2000, he served 19 years as vice president for public affairs with Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp.
