Coppersmith opens gallery in Louisville
LOUISVILLE – Angela Facciotti, an art designer and coppersmith, will open LA Coppersmith Artist’s Studio & Gallery next month in Old Town Louisville.
The 770-square-foot gallery space is at 915 Walnut St. and will feature art by Facciotti as well as other local artists. Facciotti plans to host open work days where customers can sit and watch resident artists work.
“My husband and I fell in love with the energy in downtown Louisville,” Facciotti said. “It’s very community oriented, especially for artisans. My motto has always been, ‘bring dreams to reality.'”
Space will be available for seven other artists, including jewelry makers, potters, welders and painters. Facciotti is interviewing artists interested in leasing the space.
She also plans to host demonstrations of her work as a coppersmith.
“Copper is such a beautiful, warm metal,” she said. “A lot goes into working with copper because of its density. It’s warmer because of the hues you get from working with it at different temperatures. It’s a very comforting metal.”
Opening night is Friday, Feb. 3, from 4 to 8 p.m. and will feature appetizers and drinks.
