Aims receives $2 million from Department of Labor

GREELEY – Thanks to a $2 million grant from the Department of Labor, Aims Community College now has the means to bolster programs and services, and equip more students with the necessary skills to succeed in their industry of interest.

Most of the money will be channeled into the Energy/Oil & Gas program under the Applied Environmental Technology department as part of the Colorado Online Energy Training Consortium, which granted $17.3 million to community colleges across the state.

The funds will be used to establish an Associate of Applied Science degree in Energy/Oil & Gas and a short-term certificate program that will get students up to speed with industry demands. The money will also be used to purchase equipment for a mobile education station that will take students out into the Weld County community for on-site training.
