State high court reverses decision in Walmart injury case
The Colorado Supreme Court has ruled that a $10 million judgment against Walmart in a personal injury case will stand and reversed an order by a Weld District Court to grant Walmart a new trial.
The case involved Cheyenne trucker Holly Averyt, who slipped on grease during a delivery at the south Greeley Walmart in December 2007. Averyt severely injured her back and is unable to return to work.
A jury initially awarded Averyt $15 million, but that amount was later reduced to $10 million.
