Greeley’s Oktoberfest needs volunteers

GREELEY – Oktoberfest 2011 has been set for Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. to 7
p.m. in Historic Lincoln Park downtown, with a kickoff on Sept. 23 from 5
to 10 p.m.

According to organizers at the Downtown Development Authority, this
year’s event will be similar to traditional Oktoberfest celebrations
around the world. In keeping with these traditions, there will be custom
ceramic beer steins featuring a design by a local artist, new talent in
addition to returning artists, new contests and games, and some new
craft and food vendors.

This year’s Oktoberfest will also showcase some of the state’s
micro-brewers including Oskar Blues, Boulder Beer, and Greeley’s own
Crabtree Brewery.
