Regional economy growing, albeit very, very slowly

I’ve spent the past several columns detailing the reasons behind the housing crisis and financial crash. Now it’s time to get back to discussions of the health of the Northern Colorado economy.

Discussing the health of any economy must begin, and mostly end, with employment. Without employment growth — even if that employment growth is the result of more service employees servicing the influx of retirees who find that the Northern Colorado environment is where they want to spend their golden years — an economy does not grow.
