Frosch merger helps travel agency grow

BOULDER – A Boulder travel agency has grown since it merged with Frosch International Travel Inc. in October.

Andy James, former co-owner of James Travelpoints International Inc., said the  family-owned company in Boulder decided to sell, in part, to get access to the larger Frosch’s corporate travel management reporting mechanisms.

James is now the office manager at the agency located at 1750 14th St. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, and company signs have not been changed yet at the Boulder building, which is still owned by the James family.

Commercial Solar is a big investment, but not an overwhelming one

Solar offers a significant economic benefit for commercial property owners while also positively impacting the environment and offering a path to compliance for new municipal requirements like Energize Denver. A local, experienced solar installer will help you navigate the complexities of commercial solar to achieve financial success for your project.

The Boulder office is now Frosch Travel, James said. James Travelpoints was registered with the Colorado Secretary of State’s office as XYZ Corp.

Frosch also bought the James family’s Aggie Travel in Fort Collins, moving the operations to its own office at 3538 JFK Parkway in Fort Collins, James said. The James family continues to own the former Aggie Travel building as well, he said.

The company has added some corporate client work in the last six months, James said, declining to be more specific. In addition, travel business has picked up in general so far this year, compared to last year, he said. Leisure and corporate travel bookings both have been strong after the recent slump in the economy, he said.

“We had a bit of growth in the (corporate) market for many years, and the affiliation with a larger company like this gives us amenities for dealing with corporate work,” James said. “This gives us a little more horsepower to compete in some arenas we may not have been able to in the past.”

Even though the merger has been “under the radar,” company clients were told about it, James said. The company also posted an announcement on its website in March.

James Travelpoints’ management and staffing remains the same, and 11 people work in the Boulder office. Frosch was founded in 1972 in Houston, Texas, and is often ranked as one of the top 10 agencies in the United States for corporate, leisure and group travel.
