Ball reports increased 2Q income
BROOMFIELD – Ball Corp. (NYSE:BLL) in Broomfield reported Thursday that net income in the second-quarter rose 33 percent from the year-ago period to $133.3 million, or $1.40 a share.
Sales fell nearly 7 percent to $1.93 billion in the three-month period. Second-quarter results included an after-tax gain of $30.7 million, or 32 cents a share, for the sale of a portion of the company’s interest in Longmont-based DigitalGlobe Inc.
