Lodging numbers down throughout state
DENVER – Lodging facilities in Northern Colorado and the state continued to see lower occupancy rates in February.
According to data from the latest Rocky Mountain Lodging Report, overnight occupancy for the state was 52.9 percent in February, down from 60.9 percent for the same period last year. Fort Collins saw a decline of more than 10 percentage points for a February occupancy rate of 40.5 percent. Estes Park also saw a decline compared to last year, with the occupancy rate at 24 percent versus 29 percent.
Fort Collins and Estes Park are the only Northern Colorado municipalities broken out in the report. Steamboat Springs accommodations saw the highest occupancy rate during the month — at 70.4 percent. Overall, the mountain resorts had a 64.3 percent occupancy, down from 77.2 percent last year.
