Macy’s in Westminster will close

WESTMINSTER – Macy’s Inc. is closing 11 of its underperforming stores, including its retail outlet at the Westminster Mall.

The closing of the Westminster Macy’s, which has been in the city since 1986, will result in 110 layoffs. The store has been in operation since 1986 and occupies 156,000 square feet in the mall.

The Macy’s in Boulder at the Twenty Ninth Street retail district was not on the list of stores to be closed.

Following the store closings, Macy’s Inc. (NYSE: M) will operate 848 stores – 808 Macy’s and 40 Bloomingdale’s.
