3M to acquire IMTEC Corp.
ST. PAUL, Minn. – 3M, a St. Paul, Minn.-based diversified technology company, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire IMTEC Corp., an Ardmore, Okla.-based dental implant company with operations in Boulder.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
IMTEC has approximately 10 employees in Boulder, and 3M (NYSE: MMM) will keep “business as usual” at the office, according to Donna Fleming Runyon, a spokeswoman with the company.
The acquisition is expected to close in third quarter 2008. If the deal is finalized, it will give 3M ESPE – the company’s dental-products segment – access to IMTEC’s technology.
